Best AI Church Translation Software — Top Tools for 2026
The best AI church translation software in 2026 is Aurelo for most small to mid-size congregations — free plan, transparent pricing, no app download, works with any sound system. Wordly is the top enterprise option for multi-campus churches and hybrid events. This guide is written by Aurelo’s founder. Use it to shortlist tools by setup, listener access, budget, and your church’s language needs; then test your shortlist with the same sermon audio.
Disclosure: This guide is written by Todor Todorov, founder of Aurelo. I also serve as deacon and AV lead at EPC Sliven in Bulgaria, where my wife served as the church's live interpreter for years — that's where the motivation to build Aurelo came from. I have tried to be fair and accurate about every tool listed, including direct competitors. I recommend Aurelo for most churches — but I've called out where alternatives are genuinely stronger for specific needs. If you spot an error in how I've described a competitor, contact me and I'll correct it.
How to use this comparison
These recommendations reflect Aurelo’s perspective. This page does not present a controlled, side-by-side accuracy benchmark of all seven tools. Customer feedback describes individual experiences; it does not establish an accuracy percentage across languages.
Evaluation guidance and the Aurelo pricing example were corrected on September 28. LiveVoice’s published features and plans were checked on September 29. OneAccord was checked September 30. The remaining competitor entries still await a fresh review. Confirm current features, language pairs, billing terms, and trial access directly with each vendor before choosing.
What to Look for in AI Church Translation Software
Not all church translation tools are the same. Before choosing, evaluate these six criteria for your specific congregation:
Listener access method
Does the congregation need to download an app? Browser-based (QR code) access has much higher participation rates than app-based — especially for visitors and older congregation members.
Transparent pricing
Several tools hide pricing behind a demo call. For a church budget, knowing the monthly cost before starting a trial is important. Look for publicly listed plans.
Setup time
Can a volunteer set this up in 10 minutes? Or does it require IT support, a dedicated laptop, and AV integration work? Self-serve tools with clear setup guides are far more practical for most churches.
Language support for your congregation
Most tools cover 40–60+ common languages well. If your congregation includes Swahili, Punjabi, Haitian Creole, or other less common languages, check the specific supported list carefully.
Hardware requirements
The best tools require no special hardware — just a standard laptop or PC. A USB audio interface is recommended (not required) for connecting to a PA system for cleaner audio. Watch out for tools that still require dedicated receiver hardware for listeners, which adds cost and logistics.
Hybrid / virtual support
If part of your congregation joins online via Zoom, Teams, or YouTube Live, check whether the tool integrates with those platforms. Most in-person-focused tools do not.
How to test translation accuracy for your church
A speech-recognition score does not measure the complete translation your congregation hears. Check the source transcript, translated meaning, spoken output, and delay separately. This guide does not establish human-level accuracy for Aurelo.
- Use representative audio. Choose a sermon segment you have permission to use, including Scripture references, names, numbers, and the speaker’s normal pace. Feed the same audio into each tool.
- Ask a bilingual reviewer to check meaning. Compare the transcript with the original speech, then check the translation for omissions and changes of meaning, especially negation and theological terms.
- Try the actual listener setup. Listen on a phone with headphones over the network you will use on Sunday. Note interruptions and measure the delay between a spoken phrase and its translated audio.
- Repeat for each language pair you need. Record the date, settings, audio conditions, and reviewer feedback. One successful English-to-Spanish test cannot establish quality in every language.
For an Aurelo trial, follow the church translation setup guide to connect your audio and check the listener experience before the service.
The 7 Best AI Church Translation Tools in 2026
Best for most churches: Aurelo — permanent free plan, no listener app, 60+ languages, works with any PA system. Jump to full review ↓
Free plan available · Mac and Windows · No dedicated receiver hardware required
Aurelo
“AI translation built for Sunday services, with browser-based listening for your congregation.”
Aurelo is AI translation software purpose-built for churches. The operator runs a desktop app on a laptop connected to the church’s existing sound system — no special hardware required, just the laptop you already own. A USB audio interface is recommended for cleaner PA audio but is not required. AI speech recognition transcribes the sermon in real time and supports translation into 60+ languages. With Internet listener access, the church can make several languages available and each congregation member chooses the one they need after scanning the QR code. They hear spoken translation or read live captions in their phone’s browser — nothing to install, no sign-up, no app. Usage for an additional language is metered only while that language has active listeners.
Pricing is fully public and self-serve: a free plan gives 2 hours of translation per month with no credit card. Paid plans start at €49/month (billed yearly) for 10 hours (~€4.90/hour). The app works on both Mac and Windows and takes approximately 5 minutes to set up for the first service.
Strengths
- Purpose-built for churches — every feature designed for in-person worship
- Free plan (2 hrs/mo) — try a real service before paying
- Fully transparent pricing, no demo call required
- No app download for congregation members
- No dedicated receiver hardware — uses existing sound system
- Works on local WiFi for the primary language, with optional Internet listener access when members need language choice, mobile data, or remote access
- AI recognizes biblical vocabulary — names like Corinthians, places like Galilee, terms like communion and doxology — that general speech engines often mishear
- Live captions on secondary screen supported
Limitations
- Remote listeners need Internet listener access; test your broadcast routing before a hybrid service
- Requires a laptop or PC during the service (USB audio interface recommended but not required)
- Fewer enterprise certifications than Wordly (no SOC2)
- 60+ languages vs Wordly’s 100+ — if you need Somali, Tigrinya, or Karen, Boostlingo is the stronger choice
- No human interpreter option
Best choice for most churches. If you run in-person services and want fast, affordable, no-hardware AI translation with transparent pricing and no sales process, Aurelo is the strongest option in 2026. The free plan makes it easy to test with your real congregation before committing.
“Using Aurelo for the first time made an immediate difference. Translation listeners could hear clearly, and the rest of the congregation was no longer disturbed by interpretation in the room. Everyone seemed happy with the experience. Aurelo is working very well for us.”
Wordly
"Enterprise-grade AI translation trusted by Bloomberg, the UN Foundation, and government agencies."
Wordly is an AI interpretation platform used by 5 million+ people across 60+ countries for conferences, corporate events, and government meetings. It also serves houses of worship with church-specific packages. Like Aurelo, listeners connect via QR code in a browser. Additionally, Wordly integrates with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Webex — compare those meeting-platform workflows with Aurelo’s Internet listener access and broadcast setup.
Church pricing is not publicly listed. You need to contact Wordly's team and go through a demo to receive pricing. Starter and Pro plans for general use are available self-serve, but the church-specific volume packages require a sales engagement.
Strengths
- Supports virtual and hybrid services (Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex)
- Broader rare language support (Swahili, Zulu, Tamil, Punjabi, Haitian Creole)
- SOC2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified — strong for institutional/denominational use
- AI dubbing and video caption features
- Meeting summaries in 25+ languages
- Large established user base — proven at scale
Limitations
- Church pricing not publicly listed — requires demo call
- Designed for enterprise/corporate, not church-first
- Onboarding via Customer Success Manager, not self-serve
- Overkill for a single-language congregation needing one service/week
Best for large, multi-campus, or hybrid churches. If your congregation streams services on Zoom or Teams, if you need rare language support, or if your church operates at denominational scale and needs enterprise compliance, Wordly is worth the demo call. For most single-campus in-person churches, it is more than you need. See our full Aurelo vs Wordly comparison →
OneAccord
"AI live translation purpose-built for churches."
OneAccord is a church-first AI translation platform with optional transcript moderation. Like Aurelo, congregation members scan a QR code and access translation on their phones without an app. It is a dedicated competitor in the church-focused AI translation space.
Strengths
- Church-first product focus
- Browser-based QR code access for listeners
- Purpose-built for worship contexts
Limitations
- Confirm the full quote for your usage
- Trial credits by request; recurring free allowance not verified
- Compare your exact language pairs in a rehearsal
A legitimate church-focused alternative worth evaluating alongside Aurelo. Request trial credits and compare your actual service workflow. See our full Aurelo vs OneAccord comparison →

Sunflower AI
"Church translation with native ProPresenter and Proclaim integration."
Sunflower AI is a church translation platform with a strong emphasis on screen display — specifically, native integration with ProPresenter, Proclaim, and PowerPoint. For tech-forward churches that already project song lyrics, sermon notes, and Scripture on screens during worship, Sunflower AI's ability to push translated captions directly into existing presentation software workflows is a meaningful differentiator.
Strengths
- Native ProPresenter and Proclaim integration
- Captions displayed on church screens without separate tooling
- Designed for churches that run full media production
Limitations
- Pricing not publicly listed
- The ProPresenter integration is only valuable if you already use ProPresenter
- May be more setup complexity for smaller churches
The strongest choice if ProPresenter or Proclaim is already central to your Sunday morning workflow and you need translated captions displayed on screens as part of that flow. For churches without presentation software, Aurelo's simpler setup is more appropriate.
Glossa
"AI translation for multilingual worship — including song lyrics and liturgy."
Glossa goes beyond spoken sermon translation and extends into the broader multilingual worship experience — including translated song lyrics and liturgical text. For churches where the full service (not just the sermon) needs to be accessible in multiple languages, this expanded scope is a meaningful differentiator.
Strengths
- Covers liturgy and worship music translation, not just spoken sermons
- Designed for the full multilingual worship experience
- Church-specific product focus
Limitations
- Pricing not publicly available
- More setup complexity for congregations that just need basic sermon translation
Worth evaluating if your congregation needs translated song lyrics, responsive readings, or liturgical text in addition to sermon translation. For churches that only need spoken sermon translation, simpler tools are sufficient.
Boostlingo
"AI and human interpretation management — 300+ languages on demand."
Boostlingo is an interpretation management platform that combines AI translation with on-demand human interpreter services (over-the-phone interpretation and video remote interpretation). It covers 300+ languages by routing to human interpreters when AI cannot handle rare language pairs or when human quality is required.
Strengths
- 300+ languages including rare combinations via human interpreters
- Human interpreter fallback for sensitive pastoral conversations
- Pay-per-minute model suits irregular usage
Limitations
- Not purpose-built for church services — more of a general interpretation platform
- Pay-per-minute can be expensive for a full Sunday service
- Human interpretation adds scheduling and coordination overhead
Best for churches that occasionally need a rare language (e.g., Somali, Tigrinya, Karen) not covered by AI-only tools, or for pastoral counseling sessions where human interpretation accuracy and nuance matters more than cost. Not the right primary tool for weekly Sunday services.
LiveVoice
Live audio distribution with optional AI voice translation and captions.
LiveVoice supports church services with human interpreters, AI translation, or a combination. Its church offering covers in-person and remote listening. This makes it worth evaluating if your volunteers handle some languages while AI covers others.
Compare the full cost: the account plan depends on participant capacity and features, while AI translation is charged separately per minute per language. The free Test Plan allows up to three participants; confirm any AI trial allowance and payment requirements before testing AI.
Strengths
- Keep existing interpreters and add AI channels
- Browser listening available alongside the app
- Public account-plan and AI pricing
Limitations to check
- Include both account capacity and AI usage in your budget
- The three-participant Test Plan is for a small rehearsal
- Test your language pairs and network before a full service
A useful shortlist option for a church combining human and AI interpretation. Compare the complete quote and a real-service trial with Aurelo; this guide has not measured their relative accuracy.

Church already running ProPresenter / Proclaim
→ Sunflower AI. Native integration with your existing presentation software means captions can appear on screens without additional tooling.

Frequently Asked Questions
For most churches, Aurelo is the best AI translation software in 2026. It is purpose-built for churches, offers a free plan (2 hours/month, no credit card required), transparent pricing starting at €49/month billed yearly for 10 hours/month, QR code access with no app download, and works with any church sound system via a USB audio interface. For large or multi-campus churches needing Zoom/Teams hybrid support, Wordly is the strongest alternative.
AI can be useful for live sermon translation, but decide after a bilingual reviewer tests your actual audio and language pairs. Check biblical names, Scripture references, omissions, changes of meaning, and listener delay. A speech-recognition benchmark alone does not establish end-to-end translation quality. Keep a human interpreter available when nuance, sensitive pastoral conversations, or an untested language pair makes that the better choice.
Aurelo listeners use a browser after scanning the church QR code. LiveVoice also offers browser listening as well as its app. Check the exact listener workflow on the phones your congregation uses; an app download is not a universal requirement.
Aurelo advertises Basic at €49/month billed yearly for 10 hours/month, plus a free plan with 2 hours/month. Across four services, allocating the €49 monthly cost gives €12.25 per service; €4.90 is the cost per included hour when all ten hours are used. LiveVoice publishes account-plan pricing and charges AI usage separately. Compare service duration, active languages, audience limits, billing term, and any rehearsal usage before choosing.
No AI church translation tool currently works fully offline — the operator's laptop requires an internet connection for cloud-based speech recognition, translation, and text-to-speech processing. However, Aurelo uses local network streaming for audio delivery to listeners: congregation members' phones only need to be connected to the church's local WiFi network — no internet access required on their devices. This improves reliability in venues where guest WiFi bandwidth is limited.
Aurelo supports 60+ languages. Wordly supports 60 speaker languages and 67 attendee languages including Swahili, Zulu, Punjabi, Tamil, and Haitian Creole. Boostlingo covers 300+ languages through human interpreters. For the most common languages (Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Mandarin, Arabic, Korean), all AI tools provide strong support. For less common languages, check the specific language list with each provider before committing.
Sunflower AI has the strongest native integration with ProPresenter, Proclaim, and PowerPoint. Aurelo works alongside ProPresenter via audio routing — you run both simultaneously, with the church audio feeding into Aurelo's audio interface. Wordly can display captions on any browser-connected screen. If you need deep ProPresenter integration specifically, Sunflower AI is the dedicated choice.
Yes. Aurelo, Wordly, Sunflower AI, and OneAccord all support displaying live translated captions on a projector, TV, or monitor in addition to individual phone listening. This is useful for hard-of-hearing congregation members or for showing subtitles on a secondary screen. Sunflower AI has the deepest integration with ProPresenter and Proclaim for screen display.
About the author
Todor Todorov is the founder of Aurelo, an IT entrepreneur, and serves as deacon and AV lead at EPC Sliven in Bulgaria. His wife served as the church's live interpreter for years, and he saw firsthand how disruptive in-room interpretation can be for the rest of the congregation — and how every existing translation tool was either too expensive, too complicated, or not accurate enough. He built Aurelo to be the real-time church translation tool he wished his church had.
